Traveling to Placencia offers a unique and unforgettable experience for a variety of reasons. Getting to Placencia, can be done by air or road, depending on your preference and starting location. TRAVELING TO BELIZE
The main gateway to Belize is Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) located just outside of Belize City. Many international airlines offer direct flights to Belize from major cities in the United States, Canada, and more countries in Central America.
GETTING TO PLACENCIA BY PRIVATE SHUTTLE
Upon arriving at the Belize International Airport, our Private shuttle driver will meet you at the airport arrival area holding a welcome sign with your name. If you are departing from another location, the driver will pick you up at your specific location requested. The journey from Belize City to Placencia by private shuttle takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes. Along the way you will enjoy scenic views of the countryside , including lush jungles, rolling hills and charming villages.
GETTING TO PLACENCIA BY AIR
From Belize City, you can take a domestic flight to Placencia Airstrip (PLJ), which is located in Placencia Village. Maya OR Tropic Air offer daily flights between Belize City and Placencia, with flight durations of approximately 30-45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Placencia Airstrip, we offer complimentary pick up on day of arrival and drop off on day of departure. This is an easy way to get to Azure Del Mar.
GETTING TO PLACENCIA BY BUS
You can catch a bus from Belize City bus terminal to Belmopan, the capital of Belize. Buses depart frequently through the day, its a 1 hour journey. Once in Belmopan, you will need to transfer to a bus heading to Dangriga its a 2 hour ride. Once you arrive at Dangriga you can catch a bus to Placencia at the terminal. The journey takes around 1:30 minutes depending on traffic and stops along the way.
